How Plagiarism Can Happen ?

It can happen when someone unintentionally copy other people ideas when they write reports, assingment and research papers.

Plagiarism

- An act of taking other people's writings, conversations or ideas and imitating other language and writers' thought without the author's permission and releasing it as your own. This information also consists of web pages, books, e-mail messages, article and others.
- If there are more than 30% of your assignment being plagiarized, the mark for your assignment will be zero.

How To Identify Someone Did Plagiarism :

1. Copying words or ideas from someone else without giving credit
2. Failing to put a quotation in quotation marks
3. Giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation
4. Changing words but copying the sentences structure of a source without giving credit
5. Copying so many words or ideas from a sources that it makes up the majority of your work, whether you give credit or not
6. Turning as someone else's work as your own

How To Avoid Plagiarism ?

Planning your paper

· Consult your instructor/lecturer

· Plan your paper

· Take effective notes

Writing your paper

· Cite sources

· Make it clear who said what (Code,referent)

· Know how to paraphrase

· Evaluate your sources

· Include a reference page (Front page, introduction, content, calculation, referent)

Step To Prevent Plagiarism :

1. Paraphrasing

· Express the meaning of the writer, speaker or something written or spoken using different words with same meaning, especially to achieve clarity.

     2. Referencing

· Provide a book or article with citations of authorities.

· One of the most important ways to avoid plagiarism.

Step To Parapharasing :

1. Reword - Find a synonyms for the words that you want to change.

2. Rearrange - Change the sentence from active to passive or passive to active.

3. Recheck - Make sure the new sentence have the same meaning as the original topic.  

Step To Referencing :

1. Include a reference page or page of cited at the end of your paper.

2. Check the guidelines to make sure that the page meets the document formatting guidelines use by UiTM.

3. Use APA 6th formatting style.

4. Be sure to edit your research paper carefully and check for the plagiarism before submitting it.

5. Refer to your instructor/lecturer for the turnitin account to access your paraphrasing and other anti-plagiarism skills.
